We finally did it!! We finally got a fully deserved league win since promotion 🍾🍾
Chester started the game strongly with lots of the ball in the Durham half of the field. However, we found ourselves 2-0 down within ten-minutes with Durham scoring a cross-shot and capitalising from a long-throw. Chester stayed in the game and looked dangerous using the long ball, going into half-time without conceding again.
The second half was a different matter and Chester took the game to Durham. Our front-three were in fire 🔥 with Eve ⚽️ making it 2-1 and Deanna ⚽️⚽️ turning the game. The combination play between them and Emmie was fantastic. There were further big chances with Deanna hitting the post and going close on another occasion.
However, the win was built on a solid second half defence and hard working midfield behind the attack. We apologise to the girls who didn’t get back on to the pitch but we were hesitant to make many changes with the game in the balance.
Greenfingers Landscapes Girl of the Game: Tough choice on this one as so many good performances. Whittled down to Cayla Davenport for been solid in defence during first half against a pacy winger and Deanna for a great second half and two goals.
